The Whirlwind is a liquid cooled 4-stroke rotary engine working on the Wankel principle.

Designed as a compact, self contained unit, the Whirlwind engine package includes integral radiators and a built-in water pump to simplify installation.

The WAE-342 engine and its ancillary equipment are specifically designed for reliability, good starting and good specific performance, coupled with light weight and low cost. All parts have been designed and tooled for quantity production and the complete assembly has been proven by an extensive development and test programme in addition to many thousands of hours of in-service use, worldwide.
